Left Side Saw Instructions

Right Side Saw Instructions
Transcript :
In today’s video we will be highlighting the proper techniques in cutting an outside decorative crown moulding corner, with a miter saw. By following these easy steps you will save money by reducing the waste factor and save a great deal of time and frustration.
As you can see from our miter saw with have labeled the fence with photos that show the proper positioning for an inside and outside 45 degree corner. These images are available for download at www.superiorbuildingsupplies.com There is a link for these photos in the description. (See photos Above)
We are now ready to make or first cut. As the picture shows we will now turn our saw to the 45 degree mark on the left side.
When cutting decorative crown moulding, remember you always want to cut the moulding upside down. Make sure that the moulding fits firmly against the fence and table. The fence acts as the ceiling and the table acts as the wall. As the instructions on our fence show, we will save the left hand side of our cut and discard the right had side.
We are now ready to make our second cut we now swing the table around to the left hand 45 degree market.
We now look again at our instructions on our fence for the outside corner. We see after making the cut we save the left hand side of the cut and discard the right. As with our first cut it is very important that we fit the moulding firmly against the fence and the table. This will ensure the moulding is cut on the same angle as our first cut.
By following these simple techniques you now have an outside corner that is virtually seamless once installed.
Few Things to Remember When Cutting You’re Outside Corner
- Use a saw blade with 96 teeth or more. This will create a sharp clean cut on your moulding.
- Print out the table instructions and tape them to your fence. This will illuminate any confusion prior to cutting. You can download the images at www.superiorbuildingsupplies.com or www.superiorbuildingsupplies.com/blog
- Fence is the ceiling
- Table is the wall
- First cut swing the saw blade to the left 45 degree mark

This was awesome and very usefull!
Just want to tell you thank you! for all the great info found on your blog, even helped me with my work recently
keep it up!
Solid advice here for DIYers. It really helps to give out instructions in videos. Fitting crown mouldings can be quite a challenge (we’re not even talking about installing crown moulding on a not-so-square/rectangular-structures) so ensuring that you get your measurements right while still on the ground will greatly help.
